How to Clean a 2500 Gallon Mixer
On the first day of a new job, this veteran worker demonstrated the cleaning process for a 2500 gallon mixer. He casually climbed into the mixer without implementing any safety measures...no lockout-tagout procedure, no mention of confined space risks....nothing at all. It seems like they weren't really all that concerned about workplace safety at all and it doesn't seem like this is the type of job people should be doing unless they are highly paid for it.
Workplace safety should never be negotiable, and no task is worth compromising the well-being of employees. It's time for companies to prioritize safety over shortcuts. rewrite this to be witty and more intriguing
When the First Aid Kit Is Locked up
Locking and bolting up a first aid kit is akin to hiding a lifebuoy during a storm. It's not just inconvenient; it's downright dangerous. In emergencies, every second counts, and fumbling with keys and combinations can mean the difference between life and death. Whether it's a minor scrape or a major injury, immediate access to medical supplies is paramount. Locking up a first aid kit creates unnecessary barriers to essential care, leaving employees vulnerable and exposed.
It's like having a fire extinguisher encased in glass during a blaze, utterly futile. Workplace safety hinges on accessibility, and locking up first aid kits is a hazardous misstep that can't be overlooked.
An Elevator on the Brink of Collapse
An elevator on the fringe of breaking down is a ticking time bomb suspended in mid-air. It's not just an inconvenience; it's a perilous gamble with lives at stake. With each creak and groan, the structural integrity teeters on the brink of collapse. In emergencies, where seconds feel like eons, relying on a faulty elevator is akin to playing Russian roulette with fate. The prospect of being trapped between floors, or worse, hurtling downward uncontrollably, is a nightmare scenario no one should endure.
Like a crumbling bridge, a malfunctioning elevator spells disaster waiting to happen. It's a glaring safety hazard that demands immediate attention before tragedy strikes.
When They Replace a Fire Hose With Gallons of Water
Swapping out a fire hose for gallons of water in the fire cabinet is like replacing a superhero with a sidekick who can't even tie their own shoelaces. It's not just a slip-up; it's a recipe for disaster. When flames start dancing, a fire hose is your best bet for dousing them and keeping everyone safe. But swapping it out for a few gallons of water is like bringing a squirt gun to a bonfire. It's not going to cut it when things get heated.
Workplace safety isn't about shortcuts; it's about having the right tools for the job, and water gallons just don't make the cut. That is clearly not a priority for this place.
The Ladders That Are Just Strapped Together
Ladders are meant to be sturdy tools, not makeshift bridges held together by flimsy straps. When ladders are strapped together weirdly, it's like trying to build a staircase out of banana peels, unstable and downright risky. Instead of providing a safe way to reach heights, they become a precarious balancing act waiting to happen. It's like playing Jenga with safety, and the consequences can be disastrous. You can only hope that this employee will be ok and gets paid well enough for the risk.
Workplace safety isn't about cutting corners or makeshift solutions, it's about ensuring that every step, quite literally, is on solid ground.
When You Forget Your Protective Gear and Have to Wear Pink
When construction workers forget their PPE and end up sporting pink suits instead, it's like showing up to a rock concert dressed for a ballet. While there is nothing inherently wrong with wearing pink as a construction worker, it is not what people are used to seeing when they spot construction workers. Personal Protective Equipment isn't just a fashion statement; it's the frontline defense against workplace hazards. Pink is great, but it may not protect as well as the traditional colors due to the associations.
At the end of the day it looks like they at least have some protective wear. As long as it actually protects them maybe it doesn't matter what color it is.
Sparks Flying With No Protective Glasses
When sparks are flying and there are no protective glasses or gear in sight, it's like watching a fireworks show without safety barriers. Without proper protection, those sparks aren't just pretty lights; they're potential eye hazards waiting to strike and it's pretty obvious that this person is violating just about every OSHA code that is out there. You can only hope that his company is providing the required equipment, whether or not he chooses to use it.
It is hard to express just how dangerous this is and how much this man is putting himself at risk just by not using the glasses and safety wear that he should.
Standing at the Tip Top of the Ladder
Ladders are meant to provide stability, not serve as precarious pedestals for daredevil acts. One wrong move, and it's a freefall to disaster. Workplace safety isn't about pushing boundaries; it's about staying grounded and using common sense. So, before flirting with fate at the ladder's summit people should probably take into consideration the risks involved in actions like this and maybe come better prepared the next time they have this work to do.
The ladder is not meant to hold people in this capacity. It must be hard to balance and there is a very high chance that this person could fall.
A Tire That Is Very Past Its Prime
A tire that's very past its prime is like an overused joke—flat, worn out, and definitely not up for another round. It's not just a matter of tread; it's a matter of safety. With every mile, it loses its grip on the road and inches closer to a blowout. Driving on a worn-out tire is a pretty big risk, eventually, it's going to ignite disaster. Road and workplace safety isn't a guessing game; it's about knowing when to retire the old and welcome the new.
So, before pushing that tired tire another mile, give it the retirement it deserves, and keep the road safe for everyone, replacing it when it is due.
That Is a Very Oversized Load
A part of you is probably thinking that this person is a genius for making an effort to fit everything onto their truck in one go, while other people would probably think that this is reckless and is putting people at risk. Not only do they seem to have a very oversized load, but they also have the items piled on top of the truck in a reckless and scary way.
Most people probably wouldn't be too comfortable with the risk of driving next to a truck like this one. Just look at that crazy load and what could fall on you.
The Man Who Ruined a 13 Year Safety Streak
The guy who ended a 13-year safety streak accidentally messed up big time. For more than a decade, the company boasted about its flawless safety record, all thanks to a tight-knit team that took protocols seriously. But one day, this guy, who was supposed to keep things in check, slipped up. No one knows what exactly the mistake was, but it seems like a pretty horrible thing to have to live with.
They have a new record of 8 days which is nothing like the 13 year streak before. It looks like everyone needs to do their part to help make a new record (even if they'll never beat the old one).
The Leaning Tower of Fan Boxes
The leaning tower of fan boxes in a store is something that is a bit scary to see when you're walking down the store aisles. Not only does it catch your eye, but it also raises a few eyebrows. As the boxes lean and sway, it's reminiscent of a game of Jenga played in the real world, where the stakes are a bit higher than just wooden blocks. It's a curious display of balance and instability, a testament to the art of stacking gone awry.
It's a clear example of the importance of proper organization and safety in a bustling retail environment. Before the tower takes a tumble, it's time to straighten up and ensure safety takes precedence over spectacle.
A Man Hanging From a Crane Hook
While you may think that hanging from a crane hook is something pretty cool and something that seems like it is directly out of an action film, that is not really the case. It may look like fun and games until you realize just how dangerous it actually is. Heights are always a risk, but dangling from a crane is really the next level and this employee needs to be careful.
No one wants to witness an accident while this man is on the job so you can only hope that he was ok despite all the risks.
Using Bricks to Hold up a Breaker Box
Using bricks to hold up a breaker box is like using toothpicks to support a bridge, it's a disaster waiting to happen. Bricks, though sturdy for construction, aren't designed to bear the weight or provide stability for electrical components. It's a dangerous shortcut that compromises the safety of the entire electrical system and those nearby. Like building a house on sand, relying on bricks for support is a recipe for structural failure and potential disaster.
The people at this workplace really need to make a little bit of effort into workplace safety if they want to keep their employees (and themselves) safe.
Taking a Ride in the Forklift on the Back of a Truck
Taking a ride in the forklift on the back of a truck while driving down the highway probably seems like something that could be fun, it may not be all fun and games if there is an accident. After all, he seems to be relaxing in the back of the forklift and maybe there wasn't room in the back of the truck, but regardless, that may not be the best way to do it.
It is also most likely illegal, even if the person is buckled in the back of the forklift seat. Even if there wasn't room, then maybe they should have thought of other options to stay safer.
A Serious Warning for a Hospital Wheelchair
If you were to see this sign at a hospital then you would probably be wondering if you should laugh or if you should be concerned. It says in bold print, "DO NOT use this wheelchair unless it has both arm rest guards". It then goes on to say that there are serious risks if someone uses it without having the arm rest guards that are needed for it to be safe.
It seems like this is something that they know from experience. They have definitely seen things that happened to others who used this wheelchair and the armrests were missing. And it wasn't pretty.
A Ladder That Is Literally Strapped up
A ladder that is literally strapped up is like a makeshift solution in a world of safety standards, it's a visible sign of improvisation that signals potential danger. Ladders are designed to provide stability and support for reaching heights safely, but strapping one up implies it's not secure enough on its own. That is a pretty terrifying thing to see, even if this person did need to paint the ceiling then they should have gotten a better solution.
It seems that someone added the "African coffin carriers" to this as they thought it was funny that there might be a terrible accident here due to the lack of workplace safety.
Ladders on Ladders on Ladders
If you were not yet convinced that there are plenty of workplaces out there that don't take safety into consideration, here is a picture that will prove it. These people were doing work on the top of the house and they decided to do a weird hodge podge and makeshift ladder set up. They really look like they are about to fall at any given moment and they could just slide down.
The funniest part is that both of the men on the ladders seem like they are in an equal amount of risk of falling to their deaths at any given moment.
Beware of the Wall
There are really so many questions when you see this sign. After all, nothing about it really seems that helpful. While they might have had some issues with people running into the wall and it causes issues or making the workplace unsafe, it doesn't really help prevent damage. The sign says "Beware of Wall" but it is right on the wall itself so people don't have much of a warning.
The wall does seem to jut out a little bit from the rest of the wall so it makes sense that they wanted to warn employees of the risk. But it probably doesn't actually help that much.
DIY Ladder From a Bucket and a Bench
It seems like there is a theme on this list and the theme is ladders. While ladders are not the safest things in general, there are ways that they can be used that would make them a lot safer...and this person is not following those ways at all. Instead of getting a ladder to fix whatever is wrong with the ceiling, they stacked a bucket (or a trash can) and a bench and stood on it.
While people don't always have another choice, they should really avoid doing things like this as there are big risks involved. You can only hope this guy has insurance.
That's One Way to Clean a Fish Tank
While fish tanks are never the most fun thing to clean, there are probably better ways to go about it than this. This may seem to have decided to dive straight in, quite literally. They emptied some of the items out of the fish tank and just went right for it. Although it looks like a bit of a hazard, you can only hope that they at least got the job done.
The guy next to him must be pretty lucky. He is able to just stand by and watch while his friend gets dunked head first into a dirty fish tank.
Danger - Do Not Operate
If there is one thing that should make you take a step back and think, maybe you shouldn't use this and operate it...it would be this sign. This person picked up this tag on some piece of equipment and read the rather snarky message as to why it should not be operated. You can only hope that people heeded the warning and avoided using this for fear of worse repercussions.
You can tell that this is something personal. Maybe there was someone at work that was using this even though they all knew better and they were forced to send out this aggressive warning.
Not the Best Way to Hold the Tires in Place
While people are known to cut corners whenever possible, it is scary when they seem to do it to the point of risking machinery and people as well. This person put this two blocks on the sides of the tire so that it wouldn't move, but they didn't seem to do a very good job of it and it looks like it could roll away at any given moment into the abyss.
You can only hope that someone didn't lose their job over this and that they were able to prevent a bigger disaster from happening while they made this mistake.
Walking Right on Top of the Caution Sign
While there are many things that can be done to make sure that the workplace is as safe as possible, there is only so much you can do to prevent people from doing stupid things. This person most likely saw the bright green piece of cardboard on the ground and ignored the warning signs, quite literally. They walked right on top of it and you can see what the end result was.
They stepped right into the middle of the hole and fell into the abyss. However, that is really more on the side of being their fault as they should have heeded the warning and recognized the hazard.
The Worst Way to Plug Something in
While you may occasionally feel desperate to find an outlet, you should never resort to doing something like this. While it may work and the item is plugged in and functioning, it is a massive safety risk. In a split second there are so many things that could go wrong here and cause much bigger issues like fires or even small explosions. People need to be more cautious about workplace safety.
You can only hope that this disaster waiting to happen did not cause an actual accident. And that the people who chose to do this have some pretty good insurance.
Just Relaxing With an Excavator
Most people probably wouldn't put on their list of hobbies that they like to hang out a little too close to excavators and heavy machinery, however, that may not be the case with this man. He seems to enjoy getting a little too comfortable to the heavy items that could crush and destroy him in just a few moments. It's hard to tell if he looks panicked in this situation or if he is actually comfortable.
Hey, at least he is wearing a hardhat here. While it may not protect his body from being crushed or cut up by this digger, at least his head will be a bit safe.
Taking a Fire Drill to a Whole New Level
Everyone is quite aware of the necessity to complete fire drill training at a workplace. You hear the alarm and everyone files out and makes their way to the designated meeting place. You can't use the elevators and so everyone has to make their way to the stairs. However, this workplace decided to make the exit paths as difficult as possible to navigate. It's almost as if they wanted to see who could complete the obstacle course.
It really looks like they placed these trash cans there intentionally. They knew there was going to be a fire drill and they still did not remove the five trashcans blocking the exit path.
A Man Holding a Ladder Attached to a Ladder
If you've made it this far on the list then you probably have realized that the vast majority of items on here involve ladders. For whatever reason it seems that people like to live on the wild side when ladders are involved. These two men thought it would be perfectly fine to just attach two very tall ladders to each other and have one man hold them up while the other climbed to the top.
Although it looks like this is a pretty big workplace hazard (and of course it is), these men also look like this is not their first rodeo. They have done this countless times before.
The Most Chaotic and Dangerous Household Electricity System
Most people have probably never taken more than just a glance at the electrical box at their house. They probably just assume that everything is working well and that, if something goes out, they just have to flick it back on. This person is an exception. They have decided to create the most chaotic and dangerous system possible for all the electricity in the house. You can only hope that it doesn't set on fire at some point.
There are so many cords, all of them exposed. It is surprising that it even works for the electricity in the house. But even if it works, they need to improve it for safety.
When You Don't Have a Ladder - Use 40 Chairs
What do you do when you don't have a ladder, but you need to reach something high up near the ceiling? While you could do the crazy combination of standing on a trash can stacked on a bench like was shown earlier, you could also use a slightly safer approach. Just take all the chairs that you have in your house and stack them together (make sure they are the stacking chairs though) and you will reach the top.
The best part about this is that you can also sit while you have to do your work. You don't have to be standing the entire time like you would with a ladder.
Propping a Ladder on the Back of a Car
Did you ever think that the day would come that you would see someone prop a ladder to the top of a car and that is how they would reach the roof of a gas station? You probably know that this is a once in a lifetime sight, and for the best. It is also a very dangerous sight so you can only hope that they understood the risk to the person, the car, and the ladder in this process.
The ladder also probably did a good amount of damage to the roof of that car. There is no way that it came out unscathed from this situation.
Holding the Ladder in the Back of a Pickup
Sitting in the back of a pickup truck is not really the safest thing to do (nr is it legal to do on a main road or highway), however, this person really wanted to make sure that their ladder would be safe on the journey. Instead of strapping it securely to the top of the car or even to the back of the pickup, they thought it would be best (or easier) to just have someone sit back there.
The man does seem pretty relaxed in the back of the pickup as he holds on to the ladder. Hopefully, though, they only have a short way to go as that must get pretty heavy after a while.
When the Fire Escape Is Entirely Blocked
While it is very helpful that including fire escape routes in most building has become a requirement, it is not really that practical when the fire escape routes are completely blocked by boxes and toys from the store itself. If there is actually a fire, the last thing you want to do is to try to move a bunch of boxes just so that you can exit the building in time.
While they don't look like the heaviest things to move, they are blocking the path and that, in and of itself, is a hazard and this store needs to practice better workplace safety.
A Moving Truck Without a Door
Moving is a pain. There's no way around it and it's not a secret. But it would probably be much more of a pain if you hired movers like these ones. They don't even have a door on the back of their truck! Everything could just fall out at any given moment. It doesn't seem like a good idea for them or safe for anyone driving nearby. They should really be more careful.
Of course it's just a bummer to lose the back door of your loving truck (however that even happens in the first place) but they really should replace it for everyone's safety.
The Most Clogged Dryer Vent You'll Ever See
Everyone knows that it can be dangerous to not clean out your dryer vent. It is one of the basics that is required for anyone who dries anything. But maybe it's not as obvious as you would think or maybe people just don't care to make the effort to maintain a safe workplace. Either way, just about anyone would be horrified by this lint disaster and terrified of the fire risk.
It's hard to imagine that much dirt being stuck in the dryer. It's probably very hard to ever fully clean it after that. How do you ever recover it?
A Ladder in a Sink
Just when you thought you had seen everything when it came to workplace hazards and ladders, here you have yet another one. Instead of placing the ladder in a normal location, they put it right into the sink. It is unclear why they put it in the sink and what they were trying to reach that made them think it was necessary, but you can only hope that they are safe.
It's hard to tell even what this building is. Is it a workplace or is it someone's home? Everything here is confusing.
A Ladder Perpendicular to a Ladder
OK so on the one hand you can't deny that this is extremely dangerous and that no one should be working like this. However on the other hand, you have to commend them for at least making some sort of effort it stabilize the ladder they were using. Of course it's still not safe at all, but it is better than not having anything to hold it up and support it.
It seems like there are multiple things that could go wrong if just one of the ladders were to slip a little. You can only hope that they don't.
A Pickup Truck With No Doors and Loose Debris
Driving can be pretty scary. You always feel like you're at risk of something happening. There is no need to add to that fear the concern of a car in front of you that did not properly secure the loose debris that they have hanging out the back. No one wants to be stuck driving behind this hazard, but it looks like it's a one way road so there isn't much of a choice.
Hopefully everyone who drove behind this person made it to their destination safely and hopefully none of that debris made it way out of the unhinged (literally) truck.
A Step Ladder With Wheels
While it may seem like a nice and convenient idea to have a step ladder that has wheels, in reality it is far from ideal. It is nice to be able to move it around as needed to whatever location needs some extra height, but it is also one of the biggest risks possible as you could just slide all around in the process of trying to reach for your goal.
Maybe if it at least had some of those wheel locks to keep it in place then this would be less of a workplace hazard
A Interesting Attempt
While some people manage to make some really interesting and useful tools when they are trying to make their lives easier in the workplace, sometimes they just make things more complicated and more dangerous. That is pretty much what happened with this man and his interesting tool that he built, likely thinking it would make his life so much easier at work. It doesn't seem like that I'd the case at all though.
He himself even looks a little scared of the tool he created.
